Fishguard & Goodwick Lions Fun Day 2006
A large crowd gathered on the 22nd July 2006 to enjoy Fishguard & Goodwick Lions annual Fun Day on Goodwick Moor car park. The fine afternoon helped to make it a great day with loads of stalls and rides while local group Night Life, our local Line Dancers and the Magician providing excellent central entertainment. The Lions were joined by the Mayor, Cllr. Mike Lloyd in Edwardian dress in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the ferry route to Ireland. Iwan Morris from Scleddau won the ?100 Lucky Programme draw and the groceries from the Lions Tri-Shaw were collected by Mrs Walters of Goodwick. The Lions are grateful to everyone who made it such an enjoyable day and thank them for their support which is expected to raise around about ?4000. This money will be added to the Lions charity funds, which is entirely devoted to the support of good causes.
The Lions took the opportunity to present a cheque for ?500 to the Wales Air Ambulance fundraiser, Hilary Harvey who was present with their trailer.
